SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts is accepting applications for the George McKibben Memorial Scholarship.
The $500 scholarship has been established by the AISWCD to assist outstanding agriculture students in the completion of their education at any Illinois state university — Eastern Illinois University, Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University, University of Illinois and Western Illinois University.
The student awarded the scholarship should demonstrate superior agriculture academic achievement, commitment to soil and water conservation and potential for innovation and leadership ability.
Applications are available on the AISWCD website at www.aiswcd.org.
To be eligible, a student must:
• Be a senior in high school desiring to pursue an agriculture degree program or be a college student currently enrolled full time — minimum of 12 credit hours — at any Illinois state university in an agriculture degree program.
• Have a grade-point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale or a 4.0 on 5.0 scale.
• Submit a copy of their latest official transcript.
• List all extracurricular or community activities, including offices held from high school forward.
