ST. LOUIS — The Grain and Feed Association of Illinois announced its newly appointed officers and directors following the annual business meeting held at its 131st annual Convention and Trade Show.
Leading the association is President Doug Childers, of ADM in Decatur.
Former President Eric Wuthrich of Farmers Grain Company of Roseville assumes the role of chairman of the Executive Committee, as well as secretary.
The organization welcomes Cory Winstead of FS Grain in Morris as the new North-Area director, and Jay Day of Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. in Cahokia as the new South-Area director.
Reelected area directors include Joseph Logsdon of Tremont Co-Op Grain; Todd McTaggert of Evergreen FS Inc. in Bloomington; and Jim Cronin of Leland Farmers Company.
With the conclusion of the annual business meeting, the GFAI Board elected members to the Executive Committee.
Alongside Childers as president and Wuthrich as chairman, the Executive Committee includes Mark Heil of Prairie Central Co-Op, Chenoa, as first vice president; and Spencer Janssen of Litchfield Farmers Grain & Livestock, second vice president.
Jeffrey Adkisson of GFAI continues as executive vice president and treasurer.
Childers, vice president of Eastern/Western Grain at ADM, expressed his honor in leading an organization that represents over 90% of commercial grain storage in Illinois.
“It’s an honor to serve as president of an organization committed to advancing the grain handling and feed industries in Illinois,” Childers said. “I hope to be a strong voice as we collaborate with others to address challenges and propel the industry forward.”
GFAI serves as the statewide trade association for the grain and feed industry, encompassing country and terminal grain elevators, feed dealers, feed manufacturers, grain brokers, truckers, and corn and soybean processors, along with companies providing goods and services to the industry.
