INDIANAPOLIS — Gov. Mike Braun proclaimed the week of Feb. 15-22 as FFA Week in Indiana to celebrate agricultural education and FFA’s impact on youth leadership and career success.
The seven state officers met at the Statehouse to receive the proclamation and resolution.
“Whereas the FFA motto — “learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve” — gives direction of purpose to these students who take active roles in succeeding in agricultural education; now, therefore I, Mike Braun, Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby proclaim the week of February 15-22, 2025, as FFA Week in the State of Indiana, and invite all citizens to duly note this occasion,” the resolution states.
The Indiana FFA Association also received a Senate Concurrent Resolution highlighting the impact of the FFA organization.
Indiana FFA chapters help prepare its 14,000 members for careers in the ag industry and beyond.
The resolution was led by state Sen. Jean Leising, R-Oldenburg, and state Rep. Michael Aylesworth, R-Hebron.
“FFA Week is an wonderful opportunity for community members to learn more about the FFA organization and experience ag education and leadership development firsthand,” said Sienna Alexander, Indiana FFA state reporter.
The FFA state officers traveled to chapters across Indiana throughout the week. They participated in service projects, community breakfasts and other activities.
