Calendar: New technologies benefit ag safety

URBANA, Ill. — The online program The Future of Ag Safety: How AI Will Transform Agriculture will be 11 a.m. to noon Nov. 19.

Illinois experts will look ahead at emerging technologies and innovations that will transform safety in agriculture, including cutting-edge research around autonomous equipment, wearable technology, telematics, and digital training tools. Participants will gain insights into how these futuristic solutions could monitor risks, prevent incidents, and improve health outcomes for agricultural workers. The conversation also will cover how farmers, researchers, and policymakers can collaborate to fully realize the safety benefits of new agricultural technologies.

4-H Achievement

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. — Jackson County 4-H Achievement Day Dance will be 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Jackson County Extension office, 402 Ava Road, Murphysboro.

The achievements and hard work of 4-H members will be recognized at an awards ceremony, followed by a fun-filled dance.

Golden Clover Fest

AMBOY, Ill. — Golden Clover Fest will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Lee County 4-H Center, 1196 Franklin Road, Amboy.

Activities will include games, touch a tractor, scavenger hunt, a walk barrel train, and talk to a farmer. Popcorn, hot dogs and hot chocolate will be available. A Healthy You

Participants will learn how one youth started his own popcorn business; another started her own company to help reduce the amount of plastic in the oceans and save sea turtles; and another started his own beekeeping business.
