Indiana crop progress for the week ending April 13

There were 1.5 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending April 13, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service, Indiana Field Office.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 5% short, 50% adequate, and 43% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3% very short, 11% short, 53% adequate, and 33% surplus.

Winter wheat jointing reached 14%, compared to 23% last year, and the five-year average of 22%. Winter wheat condition was rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 26% fair, and 54% good, and 13% excellent.
