Illinois crop progress for week ending June 21

There were 2.6 days suitable for fieldwork in Illinois for the week ending June 21, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 5% short, 50% adequate, and 43% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3% very short, 8% short, 61% adequate, and 28% surplus.

Corn emerged reached 96%, compared to 95% last year, and the five-year average of 97%. Corn silking reached 1%, compared to 1% last year, and the five-year average of 1%. Corn condition was rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 31% fair, 46% good, and 14% excellent.

Soybeans emerged reached 93%, compared to 90% last year, and the five-year average of 92%. Soybeans blooming reached 3%, compared to 2% last year, and the five-year average of 2%. Soybean condition was rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 33% fair, 44% good, and 14% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 41%, compared to 15% last year, and the five-year average of 32%. Winter wheat condition was rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 20% fair, 60% good, and 15% excellent.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 28% fair, 51% good, and 17% excellent.
