‘Discover’ theme of 95th Indiana FFA State Convention

Students will attend workshops, listen to motivational speakers, take part in community service and more at this year’s state FFA convention.

WEST LAFAYETTE — The 95th annual Indiana FFA State Convention will be held June 17-20 in West Lafayette. The theme of this year’s event is “Discover.”

“Students can look forward to many things at convention such as workshops, community service events, the dance and new this year is the convention expo where students will be able to interact with different colleges and businesses to learn more about the agriculture industry,” said State Sentinel Tanner Weakley.

“I am looking forward to seeing all the people I have met throughout my year of service, coming together as a state to celebrate a successful year and enjoying the last few moments I have with my teammates.”

Her advice to students attending the convention? Get outside of your comfort zone.

“Step out of your comfort zone by talking to other members. This allows you to make new friends,” Weakley said. “Also, attending workshops helps you learn new skills.”

Guest speakers at the event include Kanyon Huntington, the 2023-2024 National FFA Central Region vice president; and Vera Jo Bustos, a motivational speaker.

On June 18, FFA students will take part in community service events, including packing meals for the Million Meal Movement and lending a hand at Food Finders Food Pantry.
