A look around the Indiana State Fair

The Hoosier Cowboy Sandwich was a featured dish at the Indiana Beef Cattle Association food tent. A mouthwatering grilled ribeye steak, alongside pepper jack cheese from the Dairy Bar, was sandwiched between two pieces of sourdough bread.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Fair celebrated “The Art & Nature of Fun” in collaboration with Newfields.

From classic agricultural staples like the Glass Barn and award-winning 4-H projects to new foods and artistic attractions, the fair was packed with things to do.

Here are a few highlights from the event:

A horticulturalist from Newfields gives a demonstration on how to plant a tree at the Indiana State Fair. After visiting the 2024 event, all fairgoers can bring their ticket or program to Newfields to receive free general admission through Sept. 30.
An elephant sculpture was made using 3,686 cans, including healthy foods like peaches, beans, tuna and salmon. After the fair, the food cans were donated to Gleaners Food Bank.
Bees buzz inside the honey booth in the Ag/Hort Building, where the Beekeepers of Indiana raise money and educate fairgoers about all things honey.
