PENFIELD, Ill. — Tractors ranging from pre-1940 antiques to 10,500-pound farm stock will compete in the Historic Farm Days tractor pulls.
An antique tractor pull featuring show tractors will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, at the grandstand.
Illinois Tractor Pulling Association-sanctioned pulls are slated for Friday, July 11, beginning at 5 p.m..
ITPA classes will be antique tractors manufactured prior to 1940, classic tractors built through 1953, 6,850-pound pro farm, 8,500-pound limited pro stock and 10,500-pound farm stock.
Illiana Pullers Association-sanctioned pulls begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 12, with three classes — N/As, outlaw tractors and farm stock tractors.
“Both nights we also some pull antiques alongside the bigger equipment in the sanctioned classes. The schedule is pretty similar with the good luck we’ve had before,” said Derek Harms, tractor pull coordinator.
“In the past, we have about 10 for each class. Some of the classes have more. That N/A class on Saturday usually gets about 18 to 20 entries.
“We usually have pretty good turnouts. It’s a nice way to end each day and something for everybody to do.”
