LIZTON, Ind. — Just west of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway you can find Freshly Dairy — a small, family-owned farm that prides itself in its mouthwatering milk and long product shelf life.
Their cream line milk is gently pasteurized and non-homogenized. It’s bottled in BPA-free containers that are recyclable.
Owner Zack Ireland started the business in 2022 and is proud of the farm’s sustainable approach to dairy.
Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, representatives from the Indiana State Department of Agriculture and state Rep. Jeff Thompson, R-Lizton, recently toured the farm to learn about Freshly Dairy and how policies affect family-owned farms.
The tour was arranged by Indiana Grown, a program that highlights Hoosier farmers who produce locally grown products. Indiana Grown was created by ISDA to promote products grown by Hoosiers, for Hoosiers.
Freshly Dairy sells fresh bottled milk and cheese curds in 22 locations across central Indiana, including on the farm. Pick-up times on the farm are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
