From the Fields: A dry, fast and smooth harvest

Most of the time, Riskedal plants at 8 mph, but if the conditions are right, he can increase that to 9.5 mph.

This past weekend, we had just shy of 1 inch of rain, but nothing really measurable before that so we have been relatively dry. That hasn’t affected our crops at all and it has actually made harvest go really smoothly.

Harvest has gone fast and our yields are not phenomenal. That’s what I’ve heard from a lot of people, average to slightly below average yields, and I’d say we’re in the same camp.

A lot of it is variable depending on planting date and if the field caught an extra rain or not.
