Earth Day

I have a friend who lives in a big city and recently shared a story about how local students visiting a nature preserve were given shovels and allowed to dig holes. This was a novel experience for almost all of them.

I have the tremendous opportunity to work with some of the greatest employees in government and we have the pleasure to work for the American farmer — the original environmentalist, who cares for the land like no other.

There’s not a day that goes by, when farmers aren’t thinking about how to leave the land better than we found it.

Indiana Farm Bureau members celebrated Earth Day, acknowledging the importance of land and the measures farmers take to protect it.

I enjoy a good story, hearing where folks have come from and what their passions are, learning the history of a place, understanding how innovation is opening new doors on the farm. Stories help us understand our neighbors and our world, and we were all meant to be lifelong learners.
