Hefty Seed Company Princeton will host the Hefty Summer Agronomy Event from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in the Banquet Room at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club, 658 E. U.S. Highway 6, La Salle.

Country Financial Representatives Jim and TJ Scruggs recently purchased 20 frozen dinners from the Bureau County Farm Bureau fundraiser and donated them to the Bureau County Senior Center.

Heartland Bank and Trust Company has announced Joe Bates as a new commercial loan officer at the 606 S. Main St. branch in Princeton. Bates has more than 38 years of agricultural lending experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Illinois.

Bureau County Farm Bureau will be hosting a Holiday Freezer Meal fundraiser featuring 10 pre-ordered, frozen meals for $90. Registration and payment is required by Dec. 1 and pickup will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at the Bureau County Farm Bureau office.

Bureau County Farm Bureau will host a charcuterie board evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at 1407 N. Main St. in Princeton. The event will focus on wellness, food safety and a variety of food-related topics.
