From the fields: Plot signs

I’m putting up plot signs today. Test plots are a regular part of my farming operation, looking at both hybrid and variety performance, agronomic strategies and possibilities.

I work with Golden Harvest and LG Seeds on the test plots. They both publish the data, and I can show that data as well as the other data to people.

I do a corn-on-corn plot, which most people don’t. I’m lucky enough that my sister and brother-in-law have a three-acre patch and they’re willing to let me do the corn-on-corn. Then across the creek I have a corn-after-soybean, and here at the house this year is the soybean plot. So, I have three plots that I maintain.
